Siliguri - the gateway of the North East India

Siliguri is a sprawling city in the sub Himalayan Terai region. Siliguri is the most populous city except Kolkata in West Bengal and perhaps in entire North east India. Siliguri is the trading hub for north East India, Sikkim, Darjeeling Hills and Eastern Nepal. The town has two prime railway stations, New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and Siliguri junction. Bagdogra Customs Airport, which connects New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore, Bangkok and Paro is only 15 Kms distance from the city. Siliguri being situated in the plains at the base of the Himalaya Mountains, it connects the hill stations such as Gangtok, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Mirik and North East to the rest of India. The Mahananda River bifurcates the city.   • Sevoke Coronation Bridge : 
    ​One of the finest marvels of British Architecture. Completed in the year 1934, the bridge over River Teesta connects the districts of Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling. National Highway 31 runs across it. Locals call the bridge Baghpool, meaning tiger bridge, because of the two lion statues (bagh actually means tiger) at one entrance of the bridge.
  • Sevoke Kali Temple : 
    Sevoke Kali Mandir (temple), a Hindu temple is one of the most venerated places in the town, located nearby Sevoke. Associated with mythology, newlywed couples pay their homage at the shrine for a joyful married life.

  • Sukna :
    Sukna is the gateway of the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. The spot is located at a distance of 14Kms from Siliguri towards North. The location has got one nature interpretation center.
  • ISKCON Temple :
    A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is the founder acharya of the hare krishna movement. Completed in 1998, this is a complex of temples. Not only is there a beautiful temple in Siliguri, but there you will also find full facility for spiritual education.
  • Hongkong Market :
    Hong Kong Market, between Bidhan Road and Hill Cart Road - Specializes in imported goods - mostly from China. If you share a love for gadgets, hang out at Hong Kong market, as it is popularly called.
  • North Bengal University :
    North Bengal University is located between Siliguri and Bagdogra. It is a state university founded in 1962. The campus of the university is sprawling 330 acres with lush greenery. Akshaya Kumar Maitreya museum is inside the university campus. The museum is now a rich repository of collection in sculpture, coins, paintings, manuscripts, etc. depicting the history and heritage of North Bengal.
  • Madhuban Park :
    Madhuban Park is an amusement park run by Indian Army near Sukna on the way to Darjeeling from Siliguri. The park hosts Rabbit, Deer and Peacock.
  • Salugara Monastery :
    The Great International Tashi Gomang Stupa, 6 kms from Siliguri, West Bengal, India, includes a one hundred foot stupa built by Kalu Rinpoche, a Tibetan Lama. It contains five types of relics.
  • Surya Sen Park :
    Developed and maintained by Siliguri Municipal Corporation, the park has a children section and an alternative energy exhibition center. Fountains and operating in the evening hours and the park is lit with beautiful lights.
  • North Bengal Science Centre :
